The cable cars for timber transport often are erected at exposed places.

To pull the first rope by hand it used to be necessary to cut down trees. By using a drone this can be avoided.

In May 2019 AustroDrones had a mission to pull a first rope of 720 m length. After that a battery-powered rope winch pulled through a 5 mm Dyneema rope.

The time from the takeoff of the drone until the arrival of the 5mm rope totalled up to 35 minutes.
